Root Barriers

A root barrier is a wall placed underground to stop tree roots from growing past a certain point. They become necessary when further root growth could do damage to foundations and other structures, or when you’d just like to keep the roots of the tree confined to a certain area of your yard.

Root barriers work by inhibiting root growth with a non-systemic herbicide that coats walls made of a durable geotextile drainage fabric material. The walls are placed underground around the tree roots, preventing expensive repairs to foundations, driveways, sidewalks, and patios, and can help preserve your trees.
